Federation of Nurses/UFT Special Representative Anne Goldman was honored by the Brooklyn-Queens-Long Island Health Education Center at its first dinner gala on Sept. 15 for her work as a facilitator and a link between the work and education arenas for the group’s participating schools and health care employers. The group provides students with scholarships and forges partnerships between the industry, the schools, the UFT and the Department of Education. At the event, students spoke proudly of their accomplishments and thanked the center for its work. Goldman was cited for her leadership and support in organizing conferences, mentoring students and securing employment opportunities for students. Goldman called the group’s effort “a great step toward joint work with the DOE, the industry and the union.”
