As is traditional, the youngest child at a Seder asks four questions. Here Vanessa (left) takes turns with her sister Gianna (right) while mom Donna Coppola reads along.

With stories, text and songs, the UFT Jewish Heritage Committee/Jewish Labor Committee Educators’ Chapter celebrated Passover at its seventh annual Labor Seder on March 12 at union headquarters. The reading of the Haggadah, the story of the Jewish exodus from slavery in Egypt, was intertwined with a focus on the struggles of all peoples through time against oppression. There was a particular emphasis placed on the labor movement’s contributions to dignity and human rights. David Kazansky and Joel Shiller, the co-chairs of the committee, led the Seder.
