Fun and crafts galore

Fall Family Arts Day at PS 811, Brooklyn

Fun and crafts galoreBruce CotlerDon’t mess with “tough guy” teacher Harold Weiner and his sidekick, paraprofessional Tisa Snyder. While the unseasonable snow kept wheelchair-bound students from attending, 50 families made it to the PS 811 Fall Family Arts Day on Oct. 29, where students and their siblings shared in making masks for Halloween and gifts for their families. But best of all, the families at the Sheepshead Bay school, which serves severe multiply disabled students aged 13 to 21, shared a day of fun and crafts with each other. The fun included a balloon clown and a sand artist as well as a pizza lunch and a dazzling and delicious Halloween cake.
