    Coherent planning reflects the educator’s knowledge of content, intended instructional outcomes and an awareness of students’ needs. In this workshop (the first in a two-part series), participants will learn a variety of techniques for planning to ensure the greatest outcomes for students.

    Topics include: differentiating lessons and units, allowing for student choice in instruction and grouping strategies. A $10 fee is required to participate.

  • Vision Education Services: Guide Dog Professional Development Workshop 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

    The Guide Dog for the Blind (GDB) Orientation and Mobility Seminar is a two-day workshop for mobility specialists. Participants will be better able to educate clients who express an interest in working with a guide dog and will have more knowledge of the GDB class training program after attending the seminar.

    The seminar will also help the O&M Specialist to prepare clients in the transition from cane to dog and will provide information on assessing clients travel skills and other requirements.

    Registration is required.

  • High School Workshop: Designing Coherent Instruction, Part II – Lesson Planning Workshop 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

    In the second part of our work on designing coherent instruction, we will explore the ways in which educators can use unit and lesson plans as a tool to guide instruction. Emphasis will be on strategies educators can use for effective planning, as well as ways educators can reduce the sometimes tedious nature of writing individual lesson plans. While all are welcome to attend, it is recommended that you have attended Part I of this series. A $10 fee is required to participate.
