  • Wear Pink Annual event (All day)

    October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear Pink on Oct. 17 to help raise awareness, support people with breast cancer and increase funding for research. Organize your school community to wear pink that day and send photos from your "pink day" to uftgopink@gmail.com. UFT delegates, be sure to wear pink to the DA that afternoon!

  • <strike>Roll the Dice Fostering Mathematical Fluency (LearnUFT Queens)</strike> Workshop 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

    At this LearnUFT session for Queens paraprofessionals, participants will be exposed to the research that suggests games are a way to build conceptual understanding and fluency, play games that are designed to develop place value and algebraic thinking and reasoning skills, and plan adaptations that allow participation by diverse groups of learners. Participants will earn two CTLE hours.

    At this LearnUFT session for Queens teachers and paraprofessionals, participants will discuss the research behind special education policies, identify the components of an IEP, and examine and use criteria for developing a PLOP and a SMART goal. Participants will earn two CTLE hours.
