  • Educating Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (LearnUFT Bronx) Workshop 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    2500 Halsey St., (entrance on Commerce Ave.),
    Bronx, NY

    In this LearnUFT workshop for Bronx teachers and paraprofessionals, participants will develop an understanding of autism spectrum disorder and behaviors associated within the spectrum, employ instructional strategies to engage students and address educational needs and understand the role of the educator in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder. Two CTLE hours will be offered.

  • RTC - It's All About the Dance! A Springtime Ballet Event Arts & trips 8:00 pm

    Come and enjoy the Atlanta Ballet’s presentation of Director’s Choice. A compilation of imaginative works by three rising choreographers performed live with the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra. Cost is $31 per person. Pick-up tickets at Will Call - 30 minutes prior to performance. Bring photo I.D. Optional: Preceding the performance, you may join us for a 5 p.m. dinner (pay on your own) at Copeland’s of New Orleans, 3101 Cobb Parkway SE #220 in Atlanta.

  • 6th Annual Middle School Division 5K Family Run/Walk Annual event 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
    1904 Surf Ave.,
    Brooklyn, NY

    Run or walk for a great cause! Runs and walkathons are fun, healthy and great for building friendships among your school community. The proceeds from this event will go to the UFT Disaster Relief Fund, which has helped UFT natural disasters in Texas and Puerto Rico. This race will not be timed. You can run/walk as an individual or as part of a team. We will have complimentary water, snacks and giveaways for each race participant as well as raffle prizes.

  • ELLs in the Mathematics Classroom (LearnUFT Queens) Workshop 9:00 am - 11:00 am
    97-77 Queens Blvd.,
    Rego Park, NY, 11374

    In this LearnUFT workshop for Queens teachers and paraprofessionals, participants will describe the characteristics of language performance at each proficiency level. Participants will also be able to name strategies that can be implemented at each proficiency level to provide students with access to mathematical problems. Two CTLE hours will be offered.
