Grievance Decision: Pre-K Instructional Coordinators can’t be assigned data entry

The union filed a union-initiated grievance when Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Coordinators were assigned to do Pupil Personnel Data Entry, a task normally assigned to School Secretaries. In a Step 2 decision issued by the Chancellor on April 1, the Chancellor agreed that it was improper for Pre-Kindergarten Instructional Coordinators to be assigned to non-instructional tasks and ordered the DOE to review all their assigned duties and responsibilities and to cease and desist from assigning them non-instructional tasks.
