Green Dot Public Schools is a successful non-profit charter management organization striving to prepare all students for success in college, leadership and life. Green Dot opened its first public charter high school in New York City in 2008 in partnership with the United Federation of Teachers.
Positions: Green Dot New York is expanding in the 2009-10 school year and is seeking passionate teaching professionals to fill the following positions: science, social studies, physical education, health, Read 180, special education, and Spanish.
Qualifications: Appropriate higher education degrees and appropriate New York State certification required.
Preferred Candidates will have the following skills:
- Demonstrated ability as a classroom teacher working with diverse children, including those with special needs.
- A range of teaching strategies and instructional techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
- A passion to help children achieve their dreams.
Compensation: 10% above UFT/DOE contract and eligibility to become UFT members with the same medical benefits, Welfare Fund, and TRS/TDA as all other UFT members.
