About 80 new counselors attended a meeting at UFT offices at 52 Broadway to get information on licensing, certification, salary step placement and differentials and the courses needed the complete the VIH2 differential.
Each counselor received a resource book “A Guide to Social Services and Health Care in New York City ”.
Guest Speaker Stephen Gappelberg, a special representative for the UFT Pension Department, addressed the counselors concerning their benefits under the Teacher Retirement System.
At the end of the meeting a light supper was served and most importantly the counselors were able to network with each other and the guidance counselor executive board members and delegates.
