School Counselor Week

proclamation

Counselors are proud of the honor the City Council paid to them.

National School Counseling Week was celebrated Feb. 5-9. This year’s theme was “School Counselors: Helping Students Reach New Heights.” Throughout the country counselors were being recognized by principals, teachers, parents and local officials. On Thursday of that week, the New York City Council issued a proclamation honoring counselors in the city’s schools for all the work they do for their students. At the Role of the Counselor Meeting on Feb. 15, I presented the proclamation to the members of the committee. The photograph seen here shows members of the committee posing proudly with this proclamation.

I applaud all the counselors in our schools who worked tirelessly for our students. This is your proclamation. It hangs in my office as a credit to you. Congratulations for all of your hard work.

A memento of National School Counseling Week will be arriving in your homes shortly.
