Dear New York City Educator,
I am writing to tell you about our Tools for Tolerance for Educators program taking place at the New York Tolerance Center. This program is grant funded and offered at no cost for any New York City educator.
The New York Tolerance Center (NYTC) is a unique multimedia facility located on
East 42nd Streetin the heart of Manhattan. This professional development training center focuses on the dynamics of racism and prejudice in America, international human rights, and the history of the Holocaust, through unique interactive educational exhibits.
The NYTC will present Stop Bullies, Stop Bystanders© on June 5th.
This interactive program helps participants build measurable ways to reduce and even eliminate the vicious cycle of putdowns, intimidation, and violence that plagues schools. Stop Bullies, Stop Bystanders© provides a framework to spot bullying and research-supported tools for effective responses that are unlike any other program. Specific attention is directed at the potentially lethal combination of hate, anger, bias, isolation, alienation, weapons, the internet, and peer dynamics. Consistent with NCLB, SAVE, and other federal, state, and local policies, Stop Bullies, Stop Bystanders© equips participants with practices and materials that fit seamlessly into everyday school life.
