Welcome to the E Zone
This site is designed to provide you with pertinent information about Empowerment Zone Schools. Originally there were 48 schools and now the number has risen to 332. Empowerment Zone Schools are a work in progress, you can rest assured that the UFT will make every effort to insure our members are kept informed and their rights protected. Let’s try to make the Empowerment Schools become an outlet of creative teaching and not just another ill considered DOE initiative.
