The UFT Teacher Center and the NYSUT Education and Learning Trust have collaborated with Empire State College's Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Center for Labor Studies of the State University of New York (SUNY) to offer a unique, fully accredited program of study.

Now that all the UFT contracts with the Department of Education have been ratified, you should be seeing your retroactive pay and the first 11.4 percent of your 15 percent pay increase in your December 15th paycheck. Retroactive payments will range from $1,466 to $2,235 for paras who have been in the system since September 2003. In addition, the union’s officers have agreed to stretch that retro a bit more by waiving the UFT dues on the retroactive amounts.
Career Ladder Program for PARAPROFESSIONALSSep 30, 2005
Paraprofessionals, seeking to further their careers in education, may register in October, 2005 for these undergraduate courses, which are part of an accredited program of study with Empire State College that may be used toward a bachelor’s degree.
