For the last 13 of the 18 years she has been a paraprofessional — all at PS 19 — Betty Esposito has been the para representative. But that’s only part of the responsibilities she has taken on. They include being a member of the school’s Leadership Team (she’s the recorder), the Steering Committee, the Safety Committee (which she chairs,) the Consultation Committee and the Social Committee.
And, of course, she is an active participant in such UFT activities as rallies, informational picketing, Lobby Day in Albany and others.
In her community she was a Cub Scout leader and played a prominent role in the Parents Association of her own children’s school. She enjoys arts and crafts and spending quality time with her husband Benny and her children and granddaughter.
Betty leads a family full of teachers, including a daughter, daughter-in-law, niece and nephew.
