Cecilia Colon

An educator who believes that learning is a life-long adventure, Cecilia Colon faces each day at MS 964 with her mind open to knowledge and her heart filled with love of children. She has been a para in the Bronx for 29 years, all of it in special education classrooms. She has worked at MS 964 for the last four years and has also served in numerous elementary and middle schools.

This school year she became the para representative at her school.

She is thoroughly versed in the UFT contract and is an avid protector of her members’ rights. Recently she has focused special attention on safety issues.

Cecilia is devoted to her community and serves as the floor captain for her residence. She is committed to the stabilization and security of her neighborhood.

Cecilia cherishes her responsibilities as legal guardian for her brother, who has Down Syndrome. Her sister is a school secretary.
