Paras – Make Your Voices Heard!

In Our Own May Action Day!

And, With All Members in City-Wide May Actions!

May 3, Tuesday – City-wide leafleting at transportation hubs and other key areas as determined by the borough offices. Most leafleting will take place during rush hour in the afternoon. Work with Chapter Leaders to arrange for location leafleting assignments.

May 11, Wednesday – City-wide informational picketing in front of every school in the morning before work. All members in every school should participate. Again, work with your Chapter Leader. The union is encouraging all members at each school to make their own signs to be used in conjunction with the ones being printed by the union.

Mid May“Report cards” will be sent to each school to the Chapter Leader to give each UFT member an opportunity to grade Bloomberg/Klein on their education record. Make your voice and the voice of all the paraprofessionals heard! Be sure to work with your Chapter Leader to have every member fill out a report card.

May 26, ThursdayPara Action Day! This is our day to stand up and be counted as paras! First, every para will wear black from head to toe! Then we’ll leaflet! The leaflets will have our message – Respect the work of paraprofessionals and give all of us who educate our kids a fair contract! That afternoon, we’ll finish our action day with a celebration at the para rep meeting at UFT headquarters at 52 Broadway!

June 2, Thursday – Massive rally at Madison Square Garden from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. where the results of the grading on the report cards of Bloomberg/Klein will be announced. It is urgent that all UFT members attend and join in this immense demonstration of our commitment for a fair contract. This is the day to stand up and be counted!
