Gladys E. Sanfeliz

To say that Gladys Sanfeliz has expertise is an understatement. In the 34 years that she has been a paraprofessional, at PS 169, 230, 130, IS 88 and, currently, PS 154 she has provided extraordinary service in special and general education, ESL, bilingual, Summer School Literacy and Success Academy and Academic Intervention programs — and she also provides child care for her school’s Leadership Team meetings.

Here’s what her chapter leader says about her: “I have witnessed the joy that Gladys brings on a daily basis to her Pre-K children. All the parents feel well-assured when they leave their children in Gladys’ nurturing hands, because by the end of the day the kids have had an enjoyable learning experience and by the end of the year they are well on their way to becoming life-long learners.”

Herself a singer and comedienne who advises the school’s Menudo Fan Club, Gladys makes every kid a star in her school’s Dance Festival, at which they perform the flamenco, salsa and meringue.
