Congratulations School Secretary of the Year Winners!

This year there were more secretaries nominated for this prestigious award than ever before! Our chapter interviewed exemplary secretaries whose skills, dedication and hard work showed that they were all deserving of the award. It was no easy task to choose only one nominee from each borough. Nonetheless, five of our outstanding colleagues were selected as the 2005 School Secretaries of the Year.

In addition, our chapter presents one nominee who has worked to promote the professionalism and union involvement of his or her peers with the Goldie Colodny Award. This award is named after a visionary school secretary who brought secretaries into the fledgling UFT in the early 1960s. We are proud to announce this year’s winners:
