Hotline

Our hotline number (212-598-7774) continues to give our chapter support, information and guidance every day. I began this hotline to serve our chapter members and hundreds of you have called us over the years. Issues related to licensing, shortage-area payment, space, health and welfare, leaves, retention rights, seniority, CFYs, mentoring and harassment have been addressed. Thanks to the hotline, we were instrumental in pressuring the DOE to reimburse some chapter members for identity theft insurance when their speech supervisor's laptop was stolen earlier this year.

The elected executive board and volunteer liaisons meet monthly to discuss your issues and resolve problems. General membership meeting are regularly held both at Central UFT and other UFT borough offices. I also had the privilege to meet many of our new speech teachers at our Speech Survival Class.
