Week One Check List
REVIEW YOUR CASELOAD. You will receive a current student list from your speech supervisor, special education or site supervisor.
FIND THE LOCATION OF S1UDENT ClASS LISTINGS. These are generally available in the main office. Request a copy of the following items from the "Pupil Personnel Secretary":
THE CURRENT "ATS" LIST. It lists classes and other identifying data of children currently registered at your school.
THE SCHOOL ORGANIZATION SHEET. It lists staff, teachers, classes and rooms.
THE SCHOOL PERIODS AND LUNCH HOURS.
HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY - "BAT" FILES. Program office for student schedules.
LOCATE THE DISCHARGE FILES.
LOOK UP EACH CHILD ON YOUR CASELOAD. List the classroom, grade and teacher of each one. Verify dates of birth, because students often have the same or similar names.
IN HIGH SCHOOLS LOOK UP THE S1UDENTS' OSIS # AND / OR ID #.
LOCATE THE "CENTRAL FILE" IN YOUR SCHOOL. Make a note of the policy and times for accessing these confidential special education records. Compare your student list with information located in the central file. Check all information for accuracy.
VISIT CLASSES AND IDENTIFY YOUR S1UDENTS.
