Write-In Competition #28 Winners Chosen
We received an impressive 296 entries to Write-In Competition #28, with the overwhelming majority containing all correct responses. In keeping with custom, we reached into the UFT’s revolving drum to randomly select our four contest winners. Each will receive two free movie passes.
The correct answers to Write-In Competition #28:
1. There are 48,000 4-year-olds enrolled in NYC public schools in pre-K programs.
2. This March 16 marked the UFT's 45th birthday
3. The recipient of the issue's Frown Award was Reyes Irizarry.
And the winners are: Shiela Lipstein, a paraprofessional at PS 11 Queens in District 30/Region 4; Susan Rosario, a kindergarten teacher at PS 46 the Bronx in District 10/Region 1; Marguerite Willsen, a school secretary at PS 108 Queens in District 27/Region 5; and, Ellen Kane, a music cluster at PS 186 Queens in District 26/Region 3.
