With George Wingate HS, a School Under Registration Review, about to be redesigned, the staff had many qualms and concerns. Above all, the educators didn’t want the school to lose the quality of a community school. To address these concerns, UFT President Randi Weingarten and other union officials met the Wingate staff last month and held a broad-ranging discussion in the school’s library.
