Defibrillator Update

According to the DOE, there are now approximately 12,000 employees trained in CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage. In addition, more than 1,600 AEDs have been placed in school buildings. Every school should have one or more AED units on site and at least two staff members who are trained in CPR and AED usage.

Staff in schools should know where the AED unit is located. You should also know the staff members trained in CPR and the use of the defibrillator. If you have any questions, see your chapter leader.
