20 Year Settlement Minimum Accumulation
As a result of a class action suit that the UFT won, thousands of Tier I and Tier II retirees (Plans A and C) received a one time lump sum settlement in 2010.
Shortly after receiving the settlement you received a 1099R for tax purposes for 2010. The UFT was concerned that you may have misplaced that 1099R. Therefore, a duplicate, and in some cases an amended 1099R tax form is being mailed to you now. This form should be filed with your 2010 taxes.
