In and out of the loop

I looped with my class. I started with my students in 1st grade and am now in 4th grade with them. I agree with the Learning Curve column [Feb. 7] 100 percent. I have built great relationships with the students and their families. The 3rd-grade results were phenomenal!

I read with interest the article about looping. I cannot agree with this concept because students will meet a variety of people throughout their lives. Different teachers present different methodologies in their teaching styles. Students need to experience these different styles. Also, if students did not do well in a given year, they should not have the same teacher again. This also goes for those students presenting behavioral difficulties in the classroom.
