I went to the pharmacy for the next 30-day supply of my prescription medicine and was told I can’t get my refill. Why was my claim rejected?
At the local pharmacy, you can get only the original prescription and two refills. After that, you need a new prescription. If this is a “maintenance” drug (used over a long period of time), you should ask your doctor for a prescription for a 90 day supply with three refills. Maintenance drugs are provided to members through mail order or local participating maintenance pharmacies. Mail order forms and envelopes are available online. They are also available from your chapter leader or by calling the Fund Forms Hotline at 212-539-0539.
