Feelings were very mixed at pond side when the moment arrived for the young ichthyologists to release the trout fingerlings they had carefully raised from tiny jelly eggs into the unknown waters of their natural habitat. It wasn’t easy for the 2nd-graders from PS 144 in Forest Hills, Queens to say goodbye.
