UFT President Michael Mulgrew engaged in a wide-ranging discussion with educators from Districts 18 and 19, in Brooklyn, at a “Meet the President” event held in Howard Beach on Nov. 27. Mulgrew addressed the union’s recent victories on Election Day, the tremendous relief work done by UFT members in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and the ongoing battle with the mayor over the creation of a teacher evaluation system that supports rather than penalizes teachers.
