UFT Day of Action for Hurricane Sandy victims
Nov 13, 2012
UFT members spent Saturday, Nov. 13, in Coney Island, the Rockaways and Staten Island — areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy — doing cleanup work, distributing food and supplies and knocking on doors to assess the needs of residents. Meanwhile, educators, administrators, elected officials and corporate citizens pulled together to donate and deliver 30,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to displaced students.
