Thousands of UFT members have answered the call in the wake of devastating Hurricane Sandy. UFT members spent days and nights in 76 evacuation centers, most in city public schools. In the storm's aftermath, members threw themselves into relief efforts to get warm clothing, cleaning materials, food and building supplies to the hardest-hit areas.
