Donate to hurricane relief efforts

Hurricane Maria has devastated Puerto Rico. The historic storm has left most of the water undrinkable and destroyed the electrical grid for the entire island. Hurricane Harvey raked the Texas Gulf Coast, while Hurricane Irma caused massive destruction in the Caribbean and in Florida.

Public school educators, other AFT members and schools in these areas need our help to recover. Make a donation to the UFT Disaster Relief Fund to help people recover from these three terrible hurricanes. Donations will go toward disaster relief for affected members of Texas AFT, affected UFT members in Florida, affected AFT members in Puerto Rico, and public schools in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

As of Sept. 25, UFT members had contributed $26,000 to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and $10,000 to help victims of Hurricane Maria.

Use the UFT’s online form to make a donation by credit card. If you prefer to donate via check, make your check payable to UFT Disaster Relief Fund and mail it to UFT Disaster Relief Fund, 52 Broadway, New York, NY 10004.

Emergency supplies to help Puerto Rico can be dropped off at designated firehouses across the city.

Thank you for your generosity!
