It works for me
Daylite and Master Grade

Get Daylite from Marketcircle >>
I like the Daylite program at www.marketcircle.com. It’s a highly flexible, customized data-based program that enables me to store my children’s biographical and anecdotal information, write letters to parents and do custom mail merges. I can print out a snapshot of how a child is doing. I can keep track of phone calls with parents, including the duration and topic of the call, so there’s evidence that I’ve been in contact. It costs $229.95 and is for all kinds of business, but you can make it specific for what you do.
Check out Master Grade >>
Another great data-based program is Master Grade at www.maxium.com, which helps grade students. A subscription is around $39. I keep a record of homework assignments and exams, for example. It has a weighted formula, so certain tests can have more worth than others based on my critera. Then it gives me a child’s grade in terms of the four levels I determine, which I use to prepare the report card. I can justify the grades I give by the database.
