Letters to the editor

To the Editor:
We at the UFT are very proud of the landmark school-wide bonus program that we developed in conjunction with the Department of Education ("NY Teachers Who Share in $uccess," March 12).
Nearly 200 schools voluntarily entered the second year of our program, and teachers in those participating schools are working together toward meeting performance targets.
The resulting school-wide collaboration and teamwork have been outstanding. Schools that meet their performance targets will receive a bonus award equivalent to $3,000 for each full-time UFT staff member.
