The UFT library Media Committee meets four times a year. The purpose of the committee is to protect the contractual rights of librarians and help to answer work related questions.
Meeting notices are sent to the schools in the chapter leader's mailing. Please make sure that you receive the notices from your chapter leader. All librarians, K-12, and all teachers serving as the library cluster teachers are welcome to attend. In addition, notice of the meeting is advertised in The New York Teacher.
The topics at each meeting vary. Professional issues, health and welfare, pensions, licensing requirements, etc. are just a sample of past agendas.
