Article 21 - Scheduling

  1. The Employer shall provide to the Chapter Leader, or his/her designated representative(s), the tentative schedule of classes for the next quarter at the start of the eighth week of the quarter.
  2. The Union shall provide to the Employer a tentative schedule of Instructor assignments.  Seniority shall be determinative provided that they are qualified to teach the class.  Part-time Faculty shall be offered a choice of available classes after full-time Faculty have been assigned, and seniority shall be determinative provided they are qualified to teach the class. Preferences for available classes shall be consistent with the provisions of Article 22, Assignments and Transfers.
  3. Within seven (7) business days from the date the tentative schedule was provided to the Union in paragraph 1 above, the Chapter Leader or his/her designated representative(s) shall provide the proposed schedule to the Dean or his/her designated representative.  If the Union fails to provide a proposed schedule within the specified timeframe, the Employer shall construct a schedule in accord with the provisions of the Agreement.
  4. The Employer shall approve the proposed schedule provided the Faculty assignments are in accord with the provisions of the Agreement.  However, the Employer shall have the right to make changes to the proposed schedule due to last minute enrollment fluctuations that necessitate the alteration of the proposed schedule. All such changes shall be made in accordance with the Agreement, shall be explained to the Chapter Leader and the individuals so affected shall be notified.
