Committee for Members who are CAPABLY DISABLED

ARE YOU A MEMBER WHO HAS

A medical condition or disability and needs some type of help to perform your job more effectively?

The UFT has a committee for members who are capably disabled.

We know what it is like to face the challenges of a school environment while working with a disability, and we know how to help you.

A disability can be temporary or permanent, visible or invisible.

Would you like answers to the following questions?

  • What rights of the disabled are guaranteed by the Americans with Disabilities Act? (ADA)
  • What are the federal, state and local guidelines that determine if someone has a disability?
  • What reasonable accommodations are available to help me do my job?

Our committee advocates for UFT members who are working with a disability.

If you would like additional information about the UFT Committee for Members who are Capably Disabled,
Please call 212 598-7711,
Monday through Friday,
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m..

All Inquiries are Completely Confidential.
