Monthly Meetings Schedule

We invite guest speakers where topics of interest to capably disabled UFT members are addressed.

For all Meetings:

• Sign language interpreter will be present
• Wheelchair accessible
• Professional UFT staff members are available to answer your questions
• The UFT will reimburse cab fare or parking fees for those who cannot take public transportation
• Refreshments will be served; we welcome all UFT members

Wednesday, October 9, 2002 The featured speakers were representatives from the New York City Transit Authority: Ms. Roxie Marshall, Director of Policy Management and ADA Compliance, Mr. Carmelo Simeti, Director of ADA Compliance, Field Operations, and Ms. Carol Zwick, Customer Relations Officer, Para Transit Division. They discussed accessible features of the New York City Transit System, including para transit services.

Topic: Ms. Gotbaum is one of the three top people running our city. Her function is to advocate for the needs of the people of our city. Ms. Gotbaum will discuss her own awareness of disabilities issues, and hear members' concerns that can help pinpoint the needs of people with disabilities that we would like to see met.
