A Message from Eugene Rubin, our UFT Liaison

Dear Colleagues:

Another year has drawn to a close and so too another year of great accomplishments for our committee and our UFT members.

At the UFT rally on June 2nd, we were instrumental in providing accommodations for approximately 40 members with disabilities in an accessible seating area. Great preparation and time went into providing for the fullest participation of our members with disabilities.

UFT staff worked diligently to ensure that accommodations were effective. It clearly demonstrated how much the UFT values its members with disabilities.

We are looking forward to our next biennial disabilities awareness conference here at the UFT on Saturday, Oct. 29. Members of our steering committee are working enthusiastically to make sure it is a success.

Congratulations to Carolyn Herbst, Chairperson, and the members of our steering committee for the outstanding work they have done throughout the year on behalf of our members with disabilities.
