A Message from UFT Liaison:

Eugene Rubin

This has been another successful year in assisting members to apply for reasonable accommodations. I have helped many members with the application process and a large number of accommodation requests have been reviewed and processed by the Medical Bureau. I have been fortunate in that I was able to communicate with key people at the Medical Bureau. That allowed me to track the progress of many of the cases that were submitted.

Accommodation requests are just one of many health issues that are dealt with here at the UFT and assisting members with health issues involves a team effort by UFT representatives and staff workers with a wide array of expertise.

Our committee has had many notable speakers this past year, covering topics such as nutrition, art therapy and disability awareness at Lincoln Center, among others. This success is in large part thanks to the efforts of our steering committee members.

I look forward to another banner year in the fall with exciting and educational speakers at our meetings. Have a restful and enjoyable summer.
