Welcome to School Safety Publications
- Safe: Not Sorry!
- This booklet for UFT members grew out of a Federation of Nurses/UFT Professional Issues Conference. The Police Department's Crime Prevention Task Force gave a workshop there on how our nurses could improve their personal safety and avoid becoming victims of crime here in New York City.
- Victim Support Program
- The Victim Support Program was established in 1989 by the United Federation of Teachers and the New York City Board of Education to provide comprehensive, practical assistance and psychological support to teachers and other school personnel following crimes and violent incidents in school. Our goal is to help you cope with the aftermath of a criminal incident.
- School Safety Fact Sheet
- It is critical that we build on our success by strictly enforcing our own rules. It’s essential that schools report all infractions—from the most minor to the most serious. We, as a system, cannot afford to tolerate schools’ failure to report incidents.
- Victim Support Prog Brochure
- Housed at the UFT and staffed by your colleagues who understand your school environment and both the pressures and satisfactions of your job, the Victim Support Program is the only one of its kind in the country.
- Workers Comp Brochure
- Workers’ Compensation is a form of insurance, paid for in advance by your employer, which entitles you to full medical coverage and part of your salary for job-related injuries and illnesses.
- Workers' Compensation Poster
- For Workers’ Comp. call UFT Safety & Health Department 212-510-6460 If you’re the victim of an Assault or Incident call UFT Victim Support 212-598-6853
- Purse & Wallet Theft Prevention
