Education Aid
- The Robert G. Porter Scholars Program offers four 4-year, $8,000 post-secondary scholarships to students who are dependents of AFT members, as well as 10 one-time $1,000 grants to AFT members to assist with their continuing education. (www.aft.org/aftplus/scholarships/index.htm.)
Financial Counseling and Services
NYSUT Member Benefits Trust endorses this program provided by Ernst & Young
LLP. The plan provides the services of an independent financial counselor and
customized financial analyses, including debt management, education funding,
insurance needs and more.
The AFT offers a no-annual-fee, low-interest-rate credit card, along with student
loan consolidation, credit counseling, mortgages, loans and insurance.

Through payroll deduction, you can receive from NYSUT Member Benefits Trust at discounted rates:

Legal Services
NYSUT’s low-cost Legal Service Plan, endorsed by NYSUT Member Benefits Trust, offers legal assistance, including toll-free legal advice for personal matters. Membership includes two free hour-long consultations and a free simple will or update.

- The UFT, its state afflilate NYSUT, and the AFT offer discounts to several theme parks in the metropolitan area and around the country.
