Bronx UFT reps blast budget cuts at parent council meetings

District 7 Rep Patricia Filomena, District 11 Rep Paul Egan and District 12 Rep Steven Goldberg were guest speakers at three local Community Education Council meetings on April 15 in the Bronx. The UFT district reps called on the parents and the community leaders to join the UFT in fighting the city’s plans to cut more than $500 million from city schools in September. Each district rep came bearing desserts and coffee to help facilitate one-on-one conversations with community members about the need to put pressure on the city to fulfill its obligations to New York City school children.
