Guidance for members in excess
published August 31, 2010
If you were given a letter of excess by your principal or were in excess last year and still do not have a position in a school, you should visit the Excessed Staff Selection Site on the DOE website to check your status.
Go to https://www.nycenet.edu/offices/dhr/transferplane/apps/login.aspx.
The first time you use the site, you will need to register. Once you have signed up, click on the “My Current Status” button to confirm that you are officially in excess and to find out where you have been placed as an ATR. Remember that you have a right to remain in your district/superintendency as an ATR.
Please regularly check the Excessed Staff Selection Site for new vacancies. We encourage you to apply to as many vacancies in your license area as possible.
If the “My Current Status” screen indicates that you are NOT in excess, you should return on Sept. 7 to the school from which you had been excessed and should receive a program in your license area.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact your borough office.
