Resolution on the issuing of a proclamation to the NAACP on its 100th anniversary:

WHEREAS, the UFT and the NAACP have worked in partnership wherever possible in the fight for social and economic justice for all; and
WHEREAS, the New York Branch of the NAACP, under the leadership of Dr. Annie B. Martin, has lent its organizational support to this union on many occasions over the past 30 years; and
WHEREAS, the organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year; be it therefore
RESOLVED that the union present the attached proclamation to Dr. Annie B. Martin, president of the New York branch of the NAACP, at its June 24, 2009 Delegate Assembly.
