New Teacher Union Day award resolution (10-07)

Whereas, the new restructuring of the school system puts each individual school at the center of decision making; and

Whereas, this makes it more important than ever for a school to foster a spirit of cooperation and professional partnership between administrators and other educators in the school; and

Whereas, it is only when such a partnership is fully exercised that all educators can bring their expertise to bear on crucial decision making; and

Whereas, such a partnership that has been successfully developed and has demonstrated its power to create a quality educational climate in a school should be broadly hailed as a model; be it therefore

Resolved, that a new award be created by the UFT to recognize such successful partnerships; and be it further

Resolved, that the new award be presented at each Teacher Union Day to the exemplary school community.
