Joel Klein resigns; magazine exec is his replacement

At a news conference on Nov. 9, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that School Chancellor Joel Klein was resigning. He will be replaced by Cathie Black, the chairwoman of Hearst Magazines.
UFT President Michael Mulgrew said: “I look forward to working with Ms. Black. As a teacher, I will help in any way I can to help the children of New York.”
Klein is a taking a position as an executive vice president of the News Corporation.
