Medicare Part D: New income-related monthly adjustment deductions

Beginning in 2011, the Affordable Care Act required Part D enrollees whose incomes exceed the same thresholds that apply to Part B enrollees to pay an income-related monthly adjustment amount, in addition to their Part D plan premium. The income related adjustment will be deducted from your Social Security check.
The Social Security Administration statements that are being sent to members now include the income-related monthly adjustment amounts for Medicare Part D. The new amount is to be paid by recipients based on the chart below.
The chart will indicate how much you will have deducted for Part D from the Social Security in 2012.
