Happy anniversary to Dial-A-Teacher, which recently celebrated 38 years of service.

Not wild about ‘Harry Potter’

In regards to the article “The magical world of words” [Jan. 4], some parents have objected to the use of “Harry Potter” books in public school classrooms. These books tell of Wicca, which is recognized by the United States government as a religion and given tax-exempt status.

Tom Murphy, in his column [“Labor Must Show the Way,” Dec. 7], did an excellent job summarizing the ongoing policy debates within our two major political parties.

Public School Proud always

I feel blessed and fortunate to have been a teacher in the New York City public school system.

Stop punishing teachers for having children

It’s about time we receive paid parental leave.

How did we get here?

Educators of all political persuasions are struggling to figure out how someone who is so intellectually, emotionally and morally unfit to be president of the United States could have attained such a position.
