Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Payment for Medicare Part B
If you paid more than the standard monthly reimbursement rate for Medicare Part B in calendar year 2015 as an Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA), you are eligible for additional reimbursement. If you filed promptly for your calendar year 2015 Medicare Part B IRMAA reimbursement, your reimbursement for 2015 will be deposited directly into your bank account on or about April 14.
Protecting what we’ve worked for

When the president’s chief strategist used the phrase “deconstruction of the administrative state” in his speech at the February meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, he was signaling what’s ahead in this administration. The phrase represents an ideology designed to undo 150 years of progressive achievements to establish a social safety network. It stands in contradistinction to the basic progressive belief that government at its best is a catalyst for social good.

A parting gift for her colleagues

Attendance is up, way up, in the bright, new teachers’ lounge at PS 205, a retirement gift from Lourdes Diaz-Austin to her former colleagues after 30 years as an ESL teacher at the school in the Belmont section of the Bronx. “It was a gift from my heart,” explained Diaz-Austin.

Attacks against us figure to grow
The Republican Party is more stridently opposed to unions and workers’ rights than when it last controlled both houses of Congress and a majority of state houses in 2006. It now controls Congress, the presidency and the majority of state houses, and is poised to dismantle the American labor movement. It began in Wisconsin when Gov. Scott Walker gutted the collective-bargaining rights of public-sector employees like us and now the threat looms in the federal government.
