9/11 tribute

The Tribute WTC Visitor Center, which offers visitors to the World Trade Center site a place where they can connect with people from the 9/11 community, honored teachers from around the world for their 9/11-related educational projects at an awards ceremony on Sept. 10. The awards were given for projects that focused on humanitarian efforts resulting from 9/11 and the role students played in healing the city and the world. Creative projects by students worldwide are on display until Jan. 18 at the center, located at 130 Liberty St., Manhattan.

Among the honorees, joined here by family and friends, are city teachers Les Klein of PS 5 in Manhattan; Linda Sedda of PS 137 in Brooklyn; Gregg Breinberg, Jeanne Koleniak-Burns and Leslie Johnson of PS 22, Staten Island; and Dan Fielding of HS for Leadership and Public Service.
